Senate President Ahmad Lawan led the Principal Officers into the Chamber, took the official prayers and began the day's proceedings at 10:30am.

Senate resumed plenary at 11:45am.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan reported that the Senate in a Closed Door Session deliberated on matters bordering on the workings of the Senate in particular and National Assembly in general.

EXECUTIVE COMMUNICATION
Senate President Ahmad Lawn read a letter from President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR on the transmission of 2022 Supplementary Appropriation Bill in the sum of N816.5 Billion for consideration and passage.
The budget seeks to address some negative effects of the ecological challenges caused by the recent heavy rainfall across the country. President Muhammadu Buhari, in the letter, added that when approved, the supplementary budget would be financed by borrowing, thereby, raising the 2022 budget deficit by N8.17 billion.
