Over 150 persons living with disabilities have benefited from the empowerment program launched by National Commission For Persons Living With Disabilities under the supervision of Ministry Of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation

150 persons with disabilities have benefited from the government empowerment program,recently launched by the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities,under the supervision of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Elevation.

This program is intended to help them be financially independent and enable them contribute their quota to national development.

The TBC News reporter, Mojo Thomas, reports.

Increasing education and awareness has not achieved much in the prohibition of discrimination against persons with disabilities.

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Elevation also announced that the social safety net will be expanded to include 10% of persons with disability, and the federal government will also ensure inclusion in all programs and special interventions.

The POS machines also came with the start of capital of 100,000 IRAs, a training module on business operation, a registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission, the minister also announced a national distribution of 20 million IRAs grant to association of persons with disability.
