Npower Batch C beneficiaries have been asking to know the reason it is taking so long to pay their 9-month backlog of stipends after the FG had claimed that the fund meant for the payment has been recovered.
In today's Latest Npower News, we will be discussing N-Power Outstanding Payment - What To Do While Waiting for your 9-month backlog payment.
N-Power Beneficiaries Cry Out Over Unpaid Stipends
N-Power beneficiaries, particularly those in Batch “C”, have
cried out to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the non-payment of their
allowances for the past eight months.
Gbadebo Adesiyan, the national publicity secretary of the
group, said the non-payment of stipends has caused immense hardship to
thousands of unemployed graduates captured under the N-Power scheme.
Adesiyan said the beneficiaries had been left in a state of
financial uncertainty and despair, as they had not received any payments from
January to August 2023.
He appealed to President Tinubu to intervene and ensure that
the beneficiaries are paid their allowances promptly.
Updates on NPower Backlog Payments
The National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) has
announced that it will begin paying outstanding stipends to former N-Power
beneficiaries in November 2023. Payments will be made to eligible
beneficiaries’ bank accounts after the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and
Poverty Alleviation completes its investigation.
The Federal Government has shown a renewed commitment to
resolve pending payment issues, particularly a significant backlog that has
been a topic of concern for the past nine months.
Announcement on Overdue NPower Stipends
During a significant meeting held in Abuja, Akindele
Egbuwalo, the National Programme Manager, delivered some much-awaited news. The
government has managed to secure funds that were previously tied up with
payment service providers.
The announcement outlined that starting November 2023, the
disbursement of these funds would commence, chipping away at the nine-month
backlog in a phased manner to ensure beneficiaries receive their stipends without
hiccups.
For the numerous beneficiaries who have shown patience, this
development is a sigh of relief. The hold-up, attributed to a suspension for an
audit and program restructuring, is now set to be corrected with the
government’s assurance of swift payment processing.
N-Power Investigation Ongoing, Beneficiaries Assured of Payment
The National Social Investment Management System (NASIMS) has
assured all eligible N-Power beneficiaries that they will be paid, despite the
ongoing investigation into the program.
In a post on its official Facebook page on November 3, 2023,
NASIMS stated that the N-Power C1 program has been successfully completed and
that only those with failed payment issues will be considered for payment. The
post also emphasized the importance of the ongoing investigation.
In another post, NASIMS reiterated that all eligible
beneficiaries will be paid upon conclusion of the investigation. The post urged
beneficiaries to be patient.
The NASIMS assurance comes as a relief to many N-Power
beneficiaries who have been waiting for months to receive their stipends. The
investigation into the program was launched in June 2023 following allegations
of corruption and mismanagement.
NPower Batch C3 or D Application is Fake
In recent weeks, there have been rumors circulating online
that the 2023 N-Power program application is open. However, Legit.ng conducted
a fact check and found that there is no record of such an application on
relevant Nigerian government websites.
Furthermore, the National Social Investment Management System
(NASIMS) has issued a statement warning the public against falling for scammers
who are claiming to be recruiting for the N-Power program.
NASIMS stated that the N-Power program is currently not
recruiting and that any information to the contrary is false. The agency also
advised the public to disregard any calls or messages from people claiming to
be N-Power recruiters.
NASIMS said that the N-Power program will be open for
recruitment when the time is right, and that the agency will announce this on
its official website and social media pages.
The public is therefore advised to be wary of scammers and to
only apply for the N-Power program through the official NASIMS website and
social media pages.
In addition to the above, here are some tips to avoid falling
victim to N-Power recruitment scams:
“Be wary of any website or social media page that claims to be recruiting for the N-Power program but is not affiliated with NASIMS.
Do not provide any personal or financial information to anyone claiming to be an recruiter unless you are sure that they are legitimate.
Be suspicious of any website or social media page that asks you to pay a fee to apply for the program. The N-Power program is completely free to apply for.”
If you are unsure whether an NPower recruitment advertisement is legitimate, you can contact NASIMS directly for confirmation.
