PHOTOS: NEMA Visits IDPs Attacked By Bandits In Sokoto

The National Emergency Management Agency in a joint operation with the Sokoto Emergency Management Agency conducted an assessment of the situation of Internally Displaced Persons attacked by bandits across three local governments in the state.

This was disclosed in a statement posted on the official X handle of NEMA on Sunday, November 12.'

NEMA stated, "The LGAs affected are Rabah, Wurno, and Goronyo LGAs. The victims were attacked by unknown gun men leading to the death of some persons while others sustained different magnitude of injuries.

"The bandits went further to burn houses, silos, and  shops as well as vehicles. Over one thausand animals were rustled by the armed bandits. 

The statement added that the IDPs are taking refuge in nearby communities like Mai Kujera, Gidan-buwai, Kagara ward, Zangon-jima, Marnoma, and Achifa.
