Reiss Nelson picked up an injury during Gunners 1-1 draw against Peter Bosz’s PSV

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed that along with Mohamed Elneny, Reiss Nelson also picked up an injury last night.

The Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw by Peter Bosz’s PSV Eindhoven in Holland yesterday. It was a meaningless game for Arteta’s men as they had already won their Champions League group, but losing two players to injuries is something they could’ve done without.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says Reiss Nelson picked up an injury last night

Mikel Arteta made plenty of changes to his Arsenal side last night, with the likes of Reiss Nelson, Mohamed Elneny and even Cedric Soares getting a start.

The Gunners, unsurprisingly, weren’t at their fluid best, but they did take the lead after a great run from Nelson followed by a brilliant finish by Eddie Nketiah.

An error by William Saliba gave the hosts a route back into the game in the second half. Arsenal had plenty of chances to score a winner, but they couldn’t take it in the end.

The result doesn’t really matter for the Gunners, but Elneny hobbling off the pitch with what appeared to be a hamstring injury was sad to see.

Now, Arteta has more bad news as he claimed Nelson also ‘felt something’.

The Arsenal boss told TNT Sports: “It’s a shame on Mo as well because he felt something, Reiss as well.”

Reiss Nelson was brilliant for Arsenal vs PSV

Last night’s game was Reiss Nelson’s third start of the campaign and just his first in the Champions League.

The 24-year-old is a hugely talented footballer. He has all the qualities to be a top winger, but chances have been hard to come by. However, until he was substituted in the second half, Nelson was Arsenal’s standout player.

He had 69 touches of the ball, won 12 duels and completed five take-ons. He also made four tackles and created two chances, one of which was converted by his good pal Nketiah. (Squawka)

It really is a shame that Nelson felt something last night. Hopefully, it’s just a knock and he will be fit for the game against Brighton this weekend.
