Buhari arrives Nouakchott, Mauritania to receive peace award

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Islamic Republic of Mauritania ahead of the Third Forum of the African Conference for Peace, 

State House Correspondent Adamu Sambo reports that the President was received  at Nouakchott International Airport by a high powered Mauritanian Government delegation led by Prime Minister  Mohammed Ould Bilal.

Others at the Airport were Nigerian Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence , The National Security Adviser, Director General National Intelligence Agency and other senior government officials.

During the Conference President Buhari will receive African Peace Award for his leadership role in promoting peace on the continent, through regular interventions counsels and conciliatory position. 

The award will be presented to him by the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, which is an assembly of leaders established in 2014 to pursue new ways to embrace inclusive citizenship, promote lasting peace, and work towards a safer and more sustainable world for everyone.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity Femi Adesina speaks on the significance of the award.

            

At the Third Forum of the African conference for peace, President is expected to deliver a speech on milestones and gains in the African peace process.
