Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo sent a strong message to gunmen and criminals terrorizing Ihiala axis, warning them his administration is determined to take back the state.
Governor Soludo was speaking on Sunday during a wreath laying ceremony held at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka to mark 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The Governor commended the armed forces for helping liberate the eight local government areas almost taken over by hoodlums before his administration came and helping them to keep the state calm and expressed his commitment to return the state to its enviable status as the most peaceful state in the country.
The Governor expressed his stand in solidarity with the families of officers who paid the supreme price defending the nation and stressed that as a people, Nigeria cannot forget their efforts.
The day began with the Governor's inspection of guard of honour, a gun salute, wreath laying and release of pigeons which signifies peace.
Members of the state executive council, service chiefs in the state, among others attended the event.
